Questions

Billing FAQ.

Do I need to talk to sales to get started?
No. Pay-as-you-go and Team are fully self-service — create an API key and you're billing per second within minutes. Enterprise is the only tier that goes through a conversation, because contracts and dedicated infrastructure require one.
How is compute-second billing calculated?
Each sandbox accrues vCPU-seconds and GiB-seconds from the moment it finishes booting until you call kill() or it hits its timeout. There's no rounding up to the nearest hour and no charge for provisioning time.
What happens to an idle sandbox?
A sandbox keeps billing while it's running, whether or not a command is actively executing — the same way a VM would. Set a timeout on create() to auto-kill idle sandboxes; most agent workloads set this to a few minutes past their expected task length.
Is there a free trial?
New accounts get $5 in trial credit, no card required, enough for a few hundred short sandbox sessions. Card is required once trial credit runs out.
Can I set spending limits?
Yes — per-project monthly budget caps are available on every tier from the dashboard, with email alerts at 50/80/100%.
Do you offer committed-use discounts?
Team and Enterprise accounts with predictable monthly volume can move to committed-use pricing at a discount off the metered rate — ask your account contact or email sales@ovrin.app.
